WHAT were we thinking??

Often there are moments in life that at the time seem so naturally innocent and hold no potential for problems or misunderstandings, but when looking back on those moments (usually with the benefit not only of hindsight but additional or alternative perspectives) we can see just how crazy we were and how close we actually came to being in some sort of trouble.

While revisiting some of our USA holiday pictures, I came across a couple that immediately upon first glance made me think of something a little deviant from the original "momentary context" of the pictures.

When you look at these pictures, keep in mind our momentary context - it was freezing cold (like below zero), we were tired and excited tourists, and we were in the USA's capitol. What we forgot at the time was that fewer than two weeks earlier an attempted Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist tried to destroy a commercial passenger aircraft and subsequently the nation's DHS was on high alert.

I'm quite surprised that we didn't land up in any trouble at the time, or at the very least, get some strange enquiries from the security forces around the capitol, but the pictures below reveal how suspicious we must have looked at the time...

New blog layout

Bryan here. I've just made a template update to the blog; hopefully the new blogger template editor will inspire Kat to finally get more hands-on with the blog, but for now, I've been doodling. What do you think? :)

The old blog looked like this:

Which do you prefer?

Happy birthday PACMAN!!

[UPDATE: go to http://www.google.com/pacman/ to continue the madness]

Wow. What a neat surprise!
www.google.com is celebrating Pacman's 30th birthday and what better way to celebrate it than to play two player Pacman & Pacgirl with my favorite gal?
Thanks Al for the tip :)

Hooray! It's a commentary fiesta!!

That's what some of you have been complaining about with this blog - that you can't comment. Well, to open it up to the masses and to show the world that Brat and Kat aren't just exclusive friends that only care about people with registered friendship memberships (yes, you all do know that you've signed up for the annual friendship membership, don't you?), we've (well, that's me more than Kat) opened up the comment section so you can post a comment just by typing in some little security comment. I think I may have disabled anonymous commenting before because we had some guy called Jimmy (ala the Killer Prawns variety) claiming to want to fix our disastrous meal experience at "his" franchise. Whatever. You can all comment to your hearts' content now (that includes Jennifer Kruger... woohoo - you've got your name on the internet and it's on GOOGLE now).

That's a commendable performance, don't you think?? (get it? commendable... commentable...)

Layout changes

I've made some basic layout changes to this blog to incorporate what I think is a better design to the layout and also splash out some slideshow gadget stuff for the combined 60s party Kat and I had. Hopefully Kat won't object to these modifications - please let us know if this site is too slow with the changes!

300 (tonight you browse in hell?)

We've been blogging for a few months, and already we've reached the 300 mark. Not a massive milestone by any stretch of the imagination, but a handy number to blog about. Thanks for the Spartans and their small villa, otherwise I'd have to wait for 500, or 1,000, or something bigger, and that would be pointless.

I wouldn't quite say that tonight you dine in hell, but perhaps some of my blog posts make you feel that way. At any rate, we haven't got a sniff on the other parties in the elections, but if we hit 10,000 by 2014, I'll promise to consider running for elections - okay?

Welcome to LOSER-ville, population ... YOU

Hectic business here. Our weblog has hit over 200 visitors.
In 8 days we've had 75 visits. That makes an average of just over eight people (and one dog) per day. What is wrong with you people? Have you not got anything better to do than to read about our lives?? Why are you still here??

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

I haven't blogged in a day, and I log on to read Kat's message to Brian, and to check some comments left by our Japanesey friend Billy (AKA Samurai Bill). I noticed the counter "How popular is our blog?" and the darned thing has jumped over 100 in a day, and is already almost at 150!! What the heck is wrong with you people? Don't you have anything better to do than read about our lives??? Just leave us alone will you? Go on, get up, go away. Go look in the mirror. Yes, you're a real person with a real life, and you don't need to spend time with this frivolous banter. Go on, now go. Get lost. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. It's sitting at 138 at the time of posting this... close of work today, let's see how it changes by tomorrow.

I'm going to have to start a wikipedia about this addiction if you're not careful...
